I have been catching your tonalist paintings on youtube. I really enjoy your commentary. I have an affection for tonalist painting as well as other types of painting. I have been working with my students to teach them value and composition and have found tonalist work very helpful. I am trying to get my students to look at more tonalist work and try their hand first copying a tonalist painting in order among other things to more closely examine the power of composition design in their arrangement of light and dark on the canvas. Also I find that the idea of a limited palette to be helpful to beginning students. Thank you for all your work and enthusiasm for the tonalist approach.
